How to keep up your vitality despite tiredness, stress and lack of sleep, and what yoga advises when a person feels drained of strength.
Drink water
Not tea, not coffee, not juice, not fruit compote, but clean, clear, good water. One could say: water drunk equals strength. The recommendation is this: a healthy person needs to drink 3 liters of water a day. If a person is ill, especially with skin diseases, they need to drink 4–5 liters of water a day. But remember that water should be drunk in small portions and, of course, if you have chronic illnesses of a particular kind where drinking large amounts of water is advised with caution, you should consult a doctor. Water is a medicine for many diseases, because it takes part in cleansing the body of toxins. Remember Koschei the Deathless from the fairy tale. He lay there, weak and wretched, bound by many chains, but he drank ten buckets of spring water and broke all the chains. As the saying goes: "A tale is a lie, but there's a hint in it — a lesson for good young men."
What does the feeling of tiredness tell us? That tamas — static energy — has built up. This happens as a result of stress, living through negative emotions, and doing hard work. Don't let such energy accumulate; give the body a chance to rest and get enough sleep. Interestingly, when the body is clean (free of toxins and waste), the need for sleep decreases.
Fast for one day regularly
You can feel the effect of fasting, especially dry fasting, "without water," right away. After the bowels have been cleansed, when you come out of a 24-hour fast, there is a feeling that your physical and mental strength is coming back — just like Koschei the Deathless after drinking the water.
Following these two recommendations depends on your personal discipline. You need to form a clear association for yourself: water means vigor and strength, plus inspiration. If at this moment you don't feel strength and inspiration, only tiredness, there is a simple solution — drink some water. It's important always to have drinking water with you or at your workplace. When you see it, you don't forget about it, and you also visually stimulate the wish to drink water.
One more thing: if you haven't drunk water in the morning, you won't feel the need for it all day. If you don't drink water, the body has no way to cleanse itself sufficiently and get rid of toxins, so your body "runs down" like a battery. There's no need to drink a whole cup of water at once; take a few sips, and the body itself will feel how much it needs.
May vigor and strength be with you!
