Ananda Marga

Ways to Help

Support a project, volunteer your time, or work with us. Schools, children’s homes, clinics, farms and centers around the world, and what each needs right now: money, hands on site, skills from home, things, paid work.

7 open needs and 2 collections, in 7 countries.

2 ways to help

Volunteering, in short

Give your time where it changes lives, and let it change yours.

  • Two weeks to three months

    A short stay

Join a school, a farm, a retreat or a relief team on site. Most roles need no experience, only willingness.

  • Six months to a year

    A year of service

Live and work in a project or a center as a local full-timer, with an ácárya to guide you. A year many people call the best of their life.

  • A few hours a week

    From home

Design, accounting, translation, websites, fundraising: skills that help a project from anywhere.

What a day is like

  • Meditation in the morning and evening with the community, for those who wish.
  • Five or six hours of work: teaching, cooking, building, farming, caring.
  • Simple lodging and vegetarian meals, shared.
  • Time to rest, to learn, and to get to know the people you came for.

Each project describes its own conditions on its page; ask the coordinator about anything before you come.

Who can come

Anyone over 18 who is willing to keep to the project’s way of life while there: no alcohol, drugs or meat on site, and respect for the people it serves. A few roles need a skill (a nurse, a teacher); most need only an open heart and steady hands.

How it works

  1. 1

A project or center posts a need

From its own cabinet: money for something concrete, people on site, skills from home, or things.

  2. 2

    It is read and approved

Nothing appears here before a person on our side has read it.

  3. 3

    You choose and act

Gifts to a project go through that project’s own donation page, not through this site. For the rest, one click puts you in touch with the people who asked.

Does your center or project need help?

Post a need from your cabinet: money for something concrete, people on site, skills from home, or things. It appears here, on your page and on the map once approved.

Not sure where you fit?

If what you can do is not on the board, tell us. A few hours of design, a translation, a spare laptop, a month off in winter: we will pass it to the place that needs it.
