How to accept reality?

4 min read · Society

Progress carries both positive and negative, and human consciousness often lags behind technology. How to accept the modern world and not feel like a victim of circumstance.

Let us go back 200 years. What will we see there? Mortality of about 70%, people barely live to 50, and out of 12 children only two survive. And it makes no difference whether it is a peasant family or an aristocratic one.

Today we live long, we live easily, we live freely. We live freely! Compare the degree of freedom of a serf with our degree of freedom. But the most important thing we have been given is freedom of mind.

We can do things that people 200 or 300 years ago could not have imagined even in their wildest fantasies. Yes, we sometimes make mistakes. But we learn from our mistakes. We flew into space, discovered penicillin and wrecked the environment. But we will sort that out too. Each of us today is playing our part in history. If in the past a person's life came down, mostly, to leaving offspring and dying painfully in yet another war, now the individual has become important.

How to accept the modern world?

In the modern world there are very many positive things and just as many negative ones. The progress and development of humanity carries both sides within it. It may be technological, intellectual, physical or psychic, but it will still carry both positive and negative. Will they neutralize each other? Quite possibly. Whereas spiritual progress always leads to well-being.

New ways of getting around have opened up: cars, planes, trains. We began to travel, to move quickly, to get more done and to grow in our development. However, along with this we also got pollution of the environment, accidents and killings.

But what will happen if a spiritually developed person uses a new technology? Only pluses and no minuses. You give advanced weapons to ignorant people, and they turn the planet into a very, very bad world. But what if we imagine that such weapons are controlled by morally and spiritually developed people?

That is the whole difference.

How human development affects technology, and the other way around

Any technology that is ahead of its time and falls into the wrong hands becomes a nightmare for the planet and for humanity. Yet that is often exactly what happens. How can we accept this and not feel like victims of circumstance?

A squirrel runs in a wheel. It moves its paws fast, sees nothing around it, and only sometimes, out of the corner of its eye, notices its own tail. That is how a person feels today

Until recently evolution moved painfully slowly. You could be reborn four times over and never see any progress.

And everything changed in a moment: the planet dashed forward with such enormous speed that it began to crush the people who were caught napping. And those who managed to jump aside had to adapt quickly to inevitable changes. Speeding up like that may not be so hard in itself, but think about it: our genes are not ready, our body is not ready, our nervous system is not ready. We have never been through anything like this!

And to be honest, most people are simply in shock at what is happening!

The squirrel runs in its wheel feeling that any moment now it will surely trip, fall and perish. You will agree, this is a little uncomfortable. And there is only one solution: run twice as fast, so as to ride that wheel — or, in our case, evolution.

Problems begin at the moment when a person's consciousness lags behind technology. But if your mind is twice as far ahead of it, what questions can there be? There is no need to cry and no need to say that the world is unfair, that everything is bad and we are all doomed. We just need to make the effort to catch up with technological progress.

This is exactly where Urokimeditatsii (Meditation Lessons) can help.

We help people reach the qualities that meet the conditions of life today — by practicing meditation and growing spiritually, intuitively, morally and creatively.

At the same time, this does not at all mean that today you meditated and tomorrow you woke up a perfect person. All of this happens in the process of struggle. But it is certainly what helps a person adapt and not die out like a dinosaur.

A new era has begun, in which many spiritual teachers are being born. They come to give us the tools. But far from everyone is ready to accept them. Many complain about the new conditions and do not want to accept them. They reason from a passive position, and of course that does not work. There must be an active position: "I'll make it. I'll catch up with progress and overtake it."

Consciousness is vast. Is it afraid of technology? Technology is wonderful. And the misuse of technology, the destruction of the environment, hunger and wars — will humanity not find a way to neutralize all this, to stop it?

Of course it will. 100%.
