Increasingly tragic situation in Haiti: funds are needed to rebuild the new Children’s Home
HAITI: In recent weeks there was the forced transfer of 40 girls with some adults from Port Au Prince (a dangerous city because of too much violence) to Sainte Suzanne (in the north-east) of the country. Here is the update we received from Didi Jivaprema:
“Namaskar. On July 26 of this year we were living in our home in Port Au Prince, Haiti. Because of the very serious and dangerous crisis of insecurity and violence it was not easy to live in that place, but we had no suitable place to move to with forty children and a few adults. In addition, we also wanted to be able to continue our work as much as possible with their education and the activities with music and sports. In the end we moved to the north of Haiti and arrived at Sainte Suzanne. Now we have a piece of land in a very rural area, and on that land there is a small house with a few rooms made of wood and mud. Nothing else. It is very hard to live here; basic things are missing. With the donations we receive we pay for the land, the children’s education, food, etc. At the moment the well is being dug. We still have a debt of 20,000 dollars for the land. We have to build the house for our children and provide a happy and safe space. We deeply thank all the people who have contributed and are contributing“.

Heartfelt thanks.
