Visit to Les Cayes (Haiti, Jan 19)
Report of the visit to Les Cayes (also known as Aux Cayes), one of the affected areas, on January 19 (with photos):
Today we went to visit Les Cayes, one of the areas that was affected by the earthquake, which claimed more than 200 lives, most of them children who were at school. Dharma (coordinator of AMURT Haiti) met with several people to discuss what their main needs are and to find out how AMURT could provide more and better assistance. We are also making resources available so that people who have the means to cook can obtain rice, oil, beans and canned fish. At the same time we are continuing to serve cooked food for the others, through our school.
