Autumn at Răsărit Kindergarten!
The Ladybugs group
Our road to acquiring knowledge began with a visit to the kindergarten. We walked through the classrooms, met new colleagues and friends as well as the other teachers. We even made friends with Maha, our cook, who always takes care of us and prepares good food for us.
Even though at first missing mommy was very strong and sometimes brought tears to our eyes, we learned to be strong. Today, we know that our parents love us and want only what is good for us, they bring us to kindergarten so that we learn to become grown-ups. Now we like kindergarten. Parting from our parents is done with a kiss.
Until all the children arrive, we can play, draw, build, do puzzles or read pictures in books. When we are all here we sit down at the table and have breakfast. Before we start eating we sing our favorite song in which we thank the sun, the waters and the earth for their harvest, and each time we "smile, happy that we are loved". We have learned to sit nicely at the table until we have all finished eating, and even if sometimes we still need help, we try to manage on our own and we are making progress.
After the meal we have the "Morning Circle". Here too we are making progress. Whereas at first we would get up and run off through the classroom to the left and to the right, today we sit calmly on our little cushions.
We like the "Morning Circle!"
Every day we say hello, take attendance, chat, make friends, give and receive love, sing, and when we get tired Andra gives us a massage. The "Magic Basket" always comes with a story, and at the end we can play with the characters.
The first project carried out was "Kindergarten, my little universe". We made friends with one another, got to know the toys, learned to use pencils, paper, glue. We like to play with them.
We learned new games: "The bear is sleeping, The balloon is inflating, The magic little train, Open your ear wide, as well as sensory games: Guess what it is?" We also learned a little song: "The Kindergarten"
We played with watercolors, and our little fingers made real works of art. We are proud of ourselves and we even held an exhibition. We learned the rules of our group.
The Butterflies group
We Butterflies, dear little ones that we are, are so happy, it was such a beautiful month with so many wonderful activities!! Rich Autumn brought us fruits and vegetables, which, curious as we are, we observed closely, touched and…… ate! But we did not forget to paint them carefully, to cut them out along their outlines and to beautify the classroom as in fairy tales with them; we brought leaves, cones, chestnuts, and glued big raindrops on the windows with great care, and we delighted the fairy Autumn with many autumn songs and poems! We did not forget our parents either, so that they too could enjoy our fairy-tale world of autumn, we invited them to the Autumn Bazaar, on October 24, organized right in the kindergarten's yard….!
We prepared seriously and worked, as only we know how, with great joy on autumn crafts, we pickled bell peppers, we made jam… we painted ..what can I say, we made everything and all that is needed for a real bazaar, so on the day of the bazaar we were great householders who sold their handiwork, crafts, pickles and jam….! The parents? What can we say about them, they were delighted and proud, they enjoyed the abundance of autumn together with us, which came like a fairy tale until late in the evening…
October was wonderful, and the meeting with Autumn was a whole encyclopedia that opened for us to show us: how do we recognize the season of autumn? What are its characteristics? Which are the typical fruits and vegetables? What can we sing to it? And the fact that in autumn we must prepare our provisions for the cold Winter that is to come; so that we do not by any chance end up like our grasshopper from the story, who sang instead of paying attention to the little ants who were busily gathering grains for winter!
The Elves group
After a few weeks spent with our families (in the summer vacation), we met again to begin the new school year. The happiness of being together again could be read on our faces and, with great enthusiasm, we began to tell about the things that happened during the vacation, each funnier than the last. We gladly welcomed a new member into the elves' team, a special little boy, Andrei. It is hard for him to move around and even to speak, but we all surrounded him with much warmth and love, and we hope that the moments he will spend with us will be unforgettable.
After two weeks in which we recalled what we had learned, the project "Stories on colored leaves" captivated us with experiments, stories, games and songs. We enjoyed the presence of Sunanda, a lady from England who has always helped us when we needed it. This year too she spent a little time with us and bought us teaching materials, for which we thank her from the bottom of our hearts and hope to see her again at the holidays.
Curious to watch a play, we agreed to welcome into the kindergarten our friends from the puppet theater to present the play Alice, a play that carried the little ones into a magical world full of light and color.
The colors of the richest season invited us into the kindergarten yard to better observe the changes taking place, to gather leaves, to tidy up, and so we decided to organize the Autumn Bazaar.
Hard-working as we are, we labored with great energy and enthusiasm to make certain products: dragonflies, little satchels, brooches, clay plates, photo frames. We put bell peppers in vinegar and cucumbers to pickle, we made plum jam and delicious cakes. Everything was appreciated and bought by parents, grandparents and friends at the Autumn Bazaar organized in the kindergarten's yard.
