The team of volunteers of Amurt Italia has arrived in Turkey and, after the long journey to reach Adana, the city closest to the areas destroyed by the earthquake and AMURT’s base camp, then reached Kahramamaras, where about 2,500 people are camped in the city’s stadium.
During the first week after the quake, the city’s thirteen clinics were stormed by survivors. Medicine supplies have run out and the doctors are forced into continuous shifts. The Amurt volunteers delivered the first tranche of medicines and also an electric water heater.
We heartily thank our volunteers in the field who are doing everything possible to help the population, and we also thank those who, through donations, are helping us in this dramatic emergency!
