The war in Ukraine has involved animals too: AMURT Ukraine has supported, since the start of the war, with some donations of animal food, Viktoria, a worker at the Society for the Protection of Animals. As the war came closer to her city, Viktoria created a safe place for animals 40 km from the front. She organized the evacuation of animals affected by the war from her city and from nearby cities, as well as helping people in difficult situations.
She did not want to leave her home, but with the constant bombing in her city and without running water it became impossible to stay. She is currently taking care of about 160 dogs, 200 cats, goats, chickens and a cow. The animals are now divided between the farm and her new animal shelter. As long as she is able, she will continue to collect the stray animals that are abandoned when people leave the city.
PCAP, through AMURT Ukraine, is helping to finance the fencing she needs for the new territory intended for the animals in the Odessa Region, to be placed around the property.
This extraordinary work needs all the support possible. Anyone who would like to help Viktoria in her work can make a donation through AMURT Italia:
