For the last two days our volunteers devoted themselves to searching for and buying clothing, to help the refugees of the stadium camp of Khamaranmaras. Yesterday morning, having arrived in Khamaranmaras, they delivered the clothes and some toys to the children, then took care of the medical clinics, to which they supplied medicines and beds.
“The joyful welcome of the children made the farewell hard for two volunteers, who decided to stay there while others of us completed the visit to the clinics,” recounts a volunteer.
One volunteer of the AMURT team instead stayed in Adana to obtain more tents, sleeping bags and blankets to be delivered in the province of Hatay, which yesterday was struck by yet another aftershock, renewing the urgency of ensuring as much as possible that the population has alternative housing to the potentially unsafe homes.
