Covid-19 Pandemic Relief in Porto

The Amurt Porto group mobilized its volunteers to prepare and distribute meals and essential goods to the most disadvantaged.

In the deserted streets of Porto and with very few resources available, the vulnerable population is greatly affected and isolated by the state of emergency that forced the closure of many establishments and associations that supported some of these people.

Amurt is currently also working in collaboration with the already very few NGOs still operational, which are overwhelmed by the growing number of people in need observed in recent days, who join the lines to receive a meal and some essential goods provided.

We are working following the WHO and SNS (National Health Service) guidelines for the protection of everyone involved and providing useful information so that they remain as protected as possible within the constraints of each person’s life.

Although we know that contact with the most vulnerable population should be kept brief, we do what we can to make them feel better, reminding them that they are not forgotten during this period of crisis for all of us.

We appeal to the general public and to any company for support with foodstuffs, alcohol-based disinfectants, protective masks, etc., so that our work can continue on behalf of the most needy and deprived.

You can also help us by making your donation. For this purpose use the NIB of Amurt Portugal provided on this website.

We will provide information regularly so that you can follow our work!
