AMURT/EL volunteers are responding to the devastating twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela on 24 June 2026. The Mw 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes have claimed more than 2,290 lives, injured over 11,200 people, and left tens of thousands missing, with the hardest-hit areas including Caracas and La Guaira.
Relief teams have distributed tents, blankets, towels, clothing, food, and other essential supplies to families who lost their homes, while supporting displaced people sheltering in evacuation centres across Caracas.
Teams have also provided meals to grieving families at the Caracas morgue. Alongside the emergency response, AMURT continues its long-running weekly meal programme, serving 160 people each week in vulnerable communities.
Donations to support the emergency response can be made at AMURTEL (South America): https://amurtel.org/donate/
