Following the tragic events in the Philippines, with a magnitude 7.2 earthquake in Bohol and now a Super Typhoon (Yolanda or Haiyan), with local authorities fearing a high number of dead and displaced in the regions of Leyte, Samar, Cebu, Iloilo and Mindoro, AMURT Philippines is carrying out humanitarian support actions in that country. At this moment, in six days, the AMURT teams have already completed the distribution of 5670 individual meals, in the town of Sagbayan, Bohol. The reports on the assistance of the AMURT volunteers can be followed on the official site of AMURT Philippines.
Given the scale of the calamity and with operatives on the ground, AMURT PORTUGAL is organizing a fundraising drive to help alleviate the suffering caused in the regions mentioned. The value of the euro in the Philippines is high, so small contributions can make a big difference in that country.
AMURT Portugal has set up an account for this relief effort.
Donations can be made to the account with NIB 0035 0099 0004507443141 at Caixa Geral de Depósitos. (optionally, you can also use PayPal)
